After last week and my 3 solid lunch day runs followed by a 12 miler on the weekend, I felt like I could run half way decent again. So leading into the week, I did 4 days in a row of 5 milers. Monday was fairly mellow after walking around close to 2-3 miles at church on Sunday and kind of recovery from my previous week.. Tuesday tempo in the 830 pace range but flat, and then 2 days in a row of 5 and 1100 gain and loss getting some climbing in. I felt great and no issues at all. That followed by 15 on Saturday toward Pac Ridge school with 1300 climbing was great ... and tiring. Nice to be back at it but need to be careful not to over do it and jump up in the distance and time on feet too much too quickly.
After years of working my way up the ultra distance ladder I was able to run in & complete my first 100 miler at Javelina in Oct 2017. Not knowing the Western States 100 entry rules I missed the cutoff for the 2018 lottery. Going into 2018 I had built a strong base & added races with hills to start toward my goal of qualifying. Unfortunately, April 1st, I tore my PCL and meniscus requiring surgery. I created this site to track my progress and getting back From zero to 100 miles.
