My goodness what a week. Seems the usual reoccurring April shitstrom spilled over into May. Better to write it out huh? Shorter runs if any at all. Even those seemed bad at the time.. but my pace is waaay faster than it should be in the 8s. WTH?
Long work days, not much of a lunch break and when I am on one I seem to be cooking or cleaning to try and help out more. But .. it is what it is. Had a nice 20th anniversary last week. But no long run again as Heather said shes sick right before I was getting in the shower at 5:30. Stayed home and ran 8 with Sarah later in the day. Sarah again the next day when she crashed on her bike. So a few 8s, 7 walking at D-land.
Weight just under 200 and where it should be I guess. Although for how much running I do you'd think Id be lighter. But I'm a big frame. Week long head aches persist. Assume it is just no break or rests and some stress I hold from work. Stupid that I do as its just a job!. But .. apparently how I am built. Allergies are better as I ended 10 days of antibiotics and steroids and doing three nose sprays plus an allergy pill. Maybe that causing all the head aches and stomach issues. Weight? Just feel off. Then again awakened 2 hours into sleep last night from not so fun dreams again and fell, you don't close your eyes much after that. Weird I wok up with a weird pain as I felt it happen. Or so I thought.
How am I am I to run 50 miles in a week feeling blaaa? I know I will snap out f it and first leg of SD Ultra Slam so I gotta do it. But man... Feeling like Brian's comments from Cuy100 last year. Just don't get it. Why the same thoughts?
Onward and updward.. get your shit right man!!! PCT50 7 days out! SD100 4 weeks out!
After years of working my way up the ultra distance ladder I was able to run in & complete my first 100 miler at Javelina in Oct 2017. Not knowing the Western States 100 entry rules I missed the cutoff for the 2018 lottery. Going into 2018 I had built a strong base & added races with hills to start toward my goal of qualifying. Unfortunately, April 1st, I tore my PCL and meniscus requiring surgery. I created this site to track my progress and getting back From zero to 100 miles.

No running for a week, slight jogging made it mad, trying to stretch and roll out again.
