First away from home run

Since the surgery, I have only run set distances from my house. This makes the run simple, & close enough that if the knee or leg has an issue, I can limp home. This time I went with Chad to run lake Hodges trails a bit and looked to go 12 miles. We decided the day prior to meet up and run the Highland trail on the southeast side of Interstate 15.  Great view over the farms after a short climb.

Had planned on 12-13 up to the top of Raptor Ridge and back but had some mild discomfort in my calf and decided to keep it safe and turned back and stay flat. So 11.2 was the total for the day.

However, I was able to roll it out and get 6 more flat in on Sunday just nice and slow. But was in full heat gear with sleeves and ice bandana.

10, Off, 5, 6... and getting back to a routine.

Seem to be holding decent distance with only minor effort and no real pain in the knee. Still a tight ligament but stretching helps. Heat was a new factor this week. Today the Badwater 135 is running so I thought I'd suit up and go for it. 6 miles.. 600 gain. 5 yesterday, 10 last Saturday.

8!

A few slower weeks but improvement a little at a time. PT with therapist on Tues, Ran a 7 on Wed, PT hard at the gym TH, and 8 just now Friday (today). Could do lots of legs lifts and stuff better than last week and stronger. Lunges all the way across the gym. Man my rear hurts!

Still have that out side ligament issue but at least I can do a leg press now. Again, not a fast run today with 8 miles at a 10:53 pace (had to walk a bit on the short climb)  but at least it was a constant jogging and 90 degrees out.

Wine and an MRI
